The Luck Pen: Day 1: Crystal, is a heart-warming tale where a little bit of luck goes a long way. The author is gifted in storytelling. He knows how to capture your attention with an inviting plot, detailed and likeable characters, and a naturally smooth and magnetic writing style, that leaves you wanting more. I like the fact he keeps the story short and sweet. So many drag on so long it makes it very difficult to stay excited to turn the page.

In short, Crystal, a highly qualified teacher, ends up losing her job, and taking a position that hardly makes ends meet. She's forced to get a roomie to pay the bills. All she wants to do is teach, but it's just not in the cards. Her roomie Katie, is cleaning for a living, and hates that too.

After scrounging up a few dollars, Crystal decides to treat herself to a tuna sandwich for lunch, and invites Katie, who settles for a soup, filling up on the free crackers. Crystal had to return shortly after they finished eating, to retrieve her cell phone she forgot on the table. This was when Crystal found the infamous "Lucky Pen." Curious and quite desperate, the girls when back to their apartment to check out the website etched on this mysterious pen.

And what they found is going to turn your frown upside down, and inspire you to believe in the power of plain old goodness.
