Broken edition by ML Ross Literature Fiction eBooks

I enjoyed this book, but only on a superficial level. I did not love it, or get swept away in the story. I think the biggest problem was lack of character development. Too much time is spent on the day to day activities of the main characters and not enough time is spent getting to really know them.

The sex scenes were more awkward then hot. I felt like the author was trying to fit in lots of kinky stuff, without really making it fit with the story or the characters.

*Minor Spoiler*

I also had a really hard time with the main premiss of the story. Riley has been sheltered all her life by her controlling over protecting parents. Yet they send her out of state to college all on her own without meeting her roommate, seeing where she is going to be living, or checking into the lease that she is agreeing too. Her mom is very concerned about the cloths she is going to bring to college, but does nothing to help her set up her apartment and get settled. Her dad plans to pay all her bills, but is no way involved with finding the apartment or reading the lease he is going to be paying. College is supposed to be a time to ease into adulthood. I just don't believe that parents who had been so protective would just push their kid out of the nest like that.

Broken edition by ML Ross Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I love ML Ross' stories. Lots of action packed in a quick read. Keep them coming! ♡♡
Bought this book without much expectation. Was pleasantly surprised! Great writing, great editing, engaging storyline, compelling characters. Cherry on the top was the heat between the protagonists. Good, good stuff!
Great read.....with an edge. Must read if you enjoy darker romance.
I kept thinking it would become interesting... then back to questionable. I'd say it had promise that never paid off.
I loved this story and the characters. It needs proofreading for punctuation and grammar, but the errors didn't take away my enjoyment of the book.
I really enjoyed this story...it wraps you up in the ups and down and all the emotion swirling in every chapter. This book definitely kept me turning the page. Oh yeah, and it is smoking hot. ML Ross knows how to weave a story and truly immerse the reader in the tale.
The book had 3701 locations on my kindle. The book was about an eighteen year old girl, named Riley and a 24 year old ex-convict, named Joe. Riley had grown up sheltered, with wealthy parents. Joe grew up in an abusive home, which caused him to be emotionally scarred. The book begins with Riley going to College and finally being able to spread her wings. Joe is truly broken, after getting out of prison. He drinks obsessively and has sex with many women on a daily basis, to ease the pain. Joe, a stranger, graciously allows Riley to live with him, when she is evicted from her apartment. The book contains lots of hot, hot, sex, oral sex and anal sex, and group sex. The book also contained one minor f/f sexual interaction.
SPOILER ALERT BELOW

Joe had just gotten, his life back on track and I truly believed the book should have ended at this point, but the author had other ideals. I really hated, when Joe had to go to prison for the 2nd time, for virtually doing almost the same thing, which caused him to go to jail, in the 1st place. It made you believe, he would never truly change. This is a big reason, the book was a 3 for me.
